Bedroom Vastu

Each home comes with its own energy type. Home is where one feels safe and sound. Nowadays, many people believe in Vastu especially in Nepal and other countries with Hindus. They think that it is a way to achieve peace, prosperity and happiness in life. There is a belief in Nepal, based on the flow of cosmic energy within a space, Vastu Shastra improves living conditions and promote harmony.

It works by balancing five elements of environment – Water, Fire, Earth, Air, and Space. So, you can apply rules of Vastu in your home, office and transportation. However, for this blog, our main area of focus is bedroom. Bedroom is where you relax after a tiresome day. It is where you can be yourself without any worry. Therefore, here are the number of bedroom Vastu tips for you.

1. Direction of Bedroom as per Vastu

In Nepal, we have general practices as follows:

Head of the family: we believe, for the head of the family, their bedroom should face in the south-west direction.

Kid’s bedroom: In case of kid’s bedroom, the west-facing room would be better.

Multi-Storey House: If your house is multi-storey, it is better to have master bedroom to the south-west on the top floor.

Guest rooms: Guest rooms are better if they are east-facing rooms.

In general, avoid bedrooms in the south-east or north-east corners. This is because it leads to health issues and conflicts at home.

2. Placement of the Bed as per Bedroom Vastu

According to Vaastu, the perfect place to keep the bed is south or west wall of the room. This ensures your head in the south or west direction and the legs in north or east direction. Make sure there is not any beam crossing over the bed. Also, never place the bed exactly opposite to the door. It is better if the bed is made up of wood. It should either be shaped like a square or a rectangle.

3. Placement of Electronic Gadgets and TV as per Bedroom Vastu

Many people prefer to have television in their bedroom. Arrangement of gadgets plays important role in bedroom Vastu. It feels quite luxurious to watch television while you are sleeping in the bed. However, it is best to avoid television and other electronic gadgets in the bedroom. This is because they tend to take away good energies from your room. Also, they disturb your sleep. In case you have a television in your room, make sure to place it in south-east direction.

4. Placement of Wardrobes and Dressers as per Vastu

As bedroom is our personal space, we tend to place cupboards and wardrobes there. Thus, place wardrobes in the south-west area of the bedroom. Also, make sure it’s door swings open to the east or to the south. If you have a dresser with a mirror, place it next to the bed instead of facing the bed. We relax and be ourselves in our bedroom. So, keep it clean and declutter when possible. This increases the flow of positive energy.

5. Placement of Mirrors as per Vastu

Never let the mirrors in your bedroom face the bed. However, you can place it next to the bed. This ensures that it does not reflect your body when you are sleeping. Also, make sure to place the mirror four to five feet above the ground. Besides this, never place two mirrors opposite to each other. This increases the chance of attracting negative energy, according to bedroom Vastu.
