About the Tourism Year 2020

After the success of “Tourism year, 2011” the Government of Nepal decided to make 2020 as tourism year in 2016/17 and started the various plans to improve infrastructures and other facilities. The Government is about to run two more international airports in Lumbini and Pokhara and added airbus 330-220 to a large number of tourists. ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ has the motto “Lifetime Experiences”. The aim of “The tourism year 2020” is to target international tourists from all over the world.

Is Nepal Safe to Visit?

Many people in the world have a misconception about Nepal in case of security. Nepal is a small country where people believe in unity, power of love, and respect. Nepal is a very safe place to travel and to enjoy natural scenarios. People are religious abide by warm-hearted nature, love to welcome and interact with new people. What are the best destinations to travel in Nepal?

Mustang

Mustang is famous among the tourist due it’s the natural beauty. Upper mustang is famous among the adventures people as they go there for trekking and the lower mustang is famous for its natural beauty. It is also famous among Hindus as there is a famous temple Muktinath. It is 12995 km far from the capital city of Nepal Kathmandu.

Rara lake

It is a beautiful lake located in Jumla and Mugu district in Nepal. It is the deepest lake in Nepal located between the beautiful natural scenarios. Rara lake is surrounded by coniferous vegetation. It lies in a remote area so we should walk 2 to 3 days from the airport of Jumla. 

Poon Hill

After one and a half-hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, the journey of trekking to Poon hill starts. Poon hill the hill like a tower from where we can see the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. It’s suitable to place to visit who wants to enjoy the views of the Himalayas in a short period of time. Poon hills use the short and easy trek in the Annapurna area.

Everest Base Camp

There are two base camps on Everest. South earth camp lies in Nepal whereas north base camp lies in Tibet china. After a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, you should walk around 6 days to Everest base camp. It’s beautiful with the scenario of the Himalayas where people love to have photography for the memory of the land of the highest peak of the world. While traveling to Everest base camp not only ranges of Himalayas people also love to know about the culture of the people in the Himalayan region. 

Pokhara

Pokhara is another destination to travel in Nepal. Lover of nature must visit one in Pokhara while traveling Nepal. Since it is a gateway to Mustang and Annapurna circuits most of the tourists visit Pokhara. It takes 25 min in flight from Kathmandu and about 6 hours by bus. It is a beautiful city with Phewa lake as its heart. The shadow of the beautiful Annapurna range falls in the Phewa lake. Seti river is a beautiful river that runs across the Pokhara. Pokhara is also famous among the adventure people due to the adventure sports available in Pokhara like paragliding, Zip fly, Hot air balloon, trekking, bungee jumping, rafting, canyoning, etc. Pokhara is also famous for a homestay in villages where tourists can enjoy the view of mountains and sunrise. They also love to know about Nepali culture and lifestyle. 

Lumbini

Lumbini is the birthplace of Gautama Buddha so it is famous among the Buddhist pilgrimage. It is 290.2 km from Kathmandu. Mayadevi temple infamous temple in Lumbini, which is known as the exact birthplace of Lord Buddha. Lumbini has a large monastic zone where tourists can see the ancient monasteries only built by the different countries across the world. Nepal government had announced that the domestic airport near Lumbini will be an International airport by 2020.

Kathmandu

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal with the largest area. Kathmandu is an old city with ancient art and culture. Many tourists visit Kathmandu to know about ancient civilization as there are many old durbars and temples. Pasupatinath temple is a famous Hindu temple in Kathmandu located on the bank of the Bagmati river. It is the most important religious site in Asia for the devotee of Lord Shiva. Bouddha and Swayambhu are another famous tourist area
